JULY 2, 2025

(Formula1.com)

It was a battle between the McLaren drivers during Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, with Lando Norris (No. 4 McLaren Formula 1 Team) beating Oscar Piastri (No. 81 McLaren Formula 1 Team) to the win. While Piastri lit up the timesheets in phases across the second and third stints, Norris had just enough pace in hand to hold onto P1 and take the checkered flag – marking his third win of the season and first victory since last month’s Monaco Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc (No. 16 Scuderia Ferrari) finished third. Watch the Race Highlights here. (Thank you to Formula1.com)

In an eventful Motul Grand Prix of the Netherlands that saw title-chasing Alex Marquez (No. 73 BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) crash out, Marc Marquez (No. 93 Ducati Lenovo Team) fended off the fight from Marco Bezzecchi (No. 72 Aprilia Racing) to claim his 68th MotoGP victory by 0.6s. Marquez and Bezzecchi treated us to a fascinating Grand Prix at the front, as Francesco Bagnaia (No. 63 Ducati Lenovo Team) was a couple of seconds away from the win in P3. (Trans-Am)

For the second weekend in a row, the CD Racing team of Chris Dyson and Matthew Brabham dominated a Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli TA/GT race, with the team earning its second 1-2 finish in as many races. This time, it was Dyson’s No. 16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang that took the checkered flag, securing his second win of the 2025 season at Road America. Brabham (No. 21 GYM WEED Ford Mustang) started the race from the pole, but Dyson took the point position in the first turn and never looked back, leading until the checkered flag waved and securing his 28th career victory. Brabham was never far behind, holding off challenges from Adam Andretti (No. 17 Top Liner Chevrolet Camaro) and Paul Menard (No. 3 Pittsburgh Paints/Menards Ford Mustang), but he was never unseated from the runner-up position. Third place changed hands multiple times, with Andretti and Menard swapping the spot twice in the first 20 laps. It was ultimately Andretti who would claim the final spot on the podium, as Menard suffered from a flat left-front tire late in the event, which relegated him back to an eighth-place finish. (Thank you to Trans-Am Media)

Editor's Note: This is our dearly departed billboard, which we had at Road America for several years. Peter gifted the phrase "America's National Park of Speed" to the track, which now uses it proudly in all of its communications. -WG
