Officially the fastest mullet in the business and after nearly three years of trying, Pedro Acosta (No. 37 Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) delivered a flawless ride for his maiden MotoGP victory at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. And what a perfect place to do it at too. KTM’s home. Red Bull’s home. The perfect venue. A beauty of a farewell gift before a new chapter for both rider and factory awaits in 2027. Having notched fifteen podiums without standing on the top step in MotoGP, Acosta battled his way past, and then fended off World Championship leader Jorge Martin (No. 89 Aprilia Racing), who clinched an important second-place finish at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Austria to extend his lead in the title race to 12 points after Marc Marquez (No. 93 Ducati Lenovo Team) finished fifth. It was Martin’s teammate, Marco Bezzecchi (No. 72 Aprilia Racing), who took the final spot on the podium, with just 0.192s separating the Italian from the #89 over the line, following a tense and riveting Grand Prix. Sheldon van der Linde shared the No. 24 BMW M Team WRT BMW M Hybrid V8 with Dries Vanthoor to win Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship TireRack.com Battle On The Bricks in GTP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This marks the first IMSA win for the new WRT operation, which took over the BMW IMSA GTP program for 2026. The No. 31 Cadillac of Bamber and Aitken was second, 2.926 seconds behind, with the revised lineup of Laurin Heinrich and Kevin Estre third in the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 returning that team to the podium for the first time since Long Beach in April. Aitken unofficially holds a 147-point lead over Heinrich. Nick Boulle and INDYCAR Series race winner Christian Rasmussen won in LMP2 with the No. 18 Era Motorsports ORECA LMP2 07. Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker (No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3) won in GTD Pro and Patrick Gallagher and Robby Foley (No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO) won in GTD. The WeatherTech Championship season concludes with the 10-hour Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Saturday, October 3. Watch the Race Highlights here.
