It was the 30-year-old's second straight Sprint Cup win and 36th of his meteoric career. It was also his fourth straight NASCAR national series race, having swept last week's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup events at Martinsville Speedway and having won Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Texas. "It's pretty darn good, I'll tell you that," Busch said of his streak - and life. "I've got a great wife, a great son and I'm having a blast, living the dream." Alessandro Zanardi started his 2016 para-cycling season with a win and a new race record on Sunday. The 49-year-old BMW Brand Ambassador celebrated his fifth victory at the prestigious Rome Marathon. Zanardi bettered the outright race record he set in 2012 by two and a half minutes. The Rome Marathon’s 42 kilometer route started and finished in front of the famous Colosseum and went through the Italian capital’s historic center, passing numerous landmarks. The event dates back to 1995, and, with over 13,500 participants, is one of the biggest marathon events in Europe. Zanardi has no motorsport racing on his schedule for 2016 and is instead concentrating on his para-cycling competitions.

Marquez dominated the MotoGP race from start to finish, with Lorenzo finishing second and Iannone third.

With the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) transforming its rules for 2017, Volkswagen is starting to reveal information about the next generation Polo R WRC. Key details? It's wider, lighter, more aerodynamic (bigger rear wing and front spoiler) and more powerful (380HP roughly 60HP more than the current car). The increase in power is achieved by widening the air restrictor from 33 millimeters to 36 millimeters, and an electronic center differential can now be used for the power transmission. The new cars will appear at the Monte Carlo next January.

The 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy will kick off this weekend (April 15-17) for the season-opening Bompiso Rallycross of Portugal in the picturesque town of Montalegre, located in the hills of the Vila region, close to the Spanish border. The circuit presents a unique challenge for both drivers and engineers because it is the highest altitude - 1800 meters above sea level - event on the World RX calendar. Two new additions to the star-studded lineup of drivers this year include Sebastien Loeb and Ken Block. In the top World Championship class, a total of 23 600HP Supercars will go head-to-head in Portugal over four qualifying sessions [Q1-Q4], two semi-finals, plus one final.

Editor's Note: “The Decision” is the first of five video shorts from the Ford Motor Company about the development of the Ford GT. It features Bill Ford Jr., Raj Nair, Dave Pericak and Edsel B. Ford II, who attended the 1966 race with his father, Henry Ford II. The shorts will culminate in one long-form documentary that will follow the development of both the Street Car and Race Car version of the Ford GT from the decision to build the cars to the return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. (The Autoextremist makes a cameo appearance as well.) Watch it here. -WG
