THE LINE - NOVEMBER 20, 2013

Denny Hamlin (No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing FedEX Express Toyota Camry) leads Matt Kenseth (No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Dollar General/Home Depot Toyota Camry) during the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday. The duo finished 1-2 on Sunday, but Jimmie Johnson (No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Lowe's Chevrolet SS) finished ninth to clinch a sixth NASCAR Championship (See "Fumes" - WG). Dale Earnhardt Jr. (No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports National Guard Chevrolet SS) finished third. Brad Keselowski (No. 48 Penske Racing Discount Tire Ford Mustang) won the Ford EcoBoost 300 Saturday night Saturday night at Homestead Miami Speedway, which clinched the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series Manufacturers championship for Ford. Keselowski went from 10th to first in the final five laps to win his seventh race of the season. “That was an amazing performance by Brad and the entire Penske team to make this happen. What an amazingly close battle it was today,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. “To watch Brad come from that far back in the pack to clinch the manufacturers’ championship was just amazing. I couldn’t be more proud of everyone that helped Ford get to this moment tonight.” Keselowski's Penske Racing teammate, Joey Logano (No. 22 Penske Racing Hertz Ford Mustang) gained six spots after the final restart to finish sixth and secure the owners' championship for Roger Penske by one point over the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota driven by Kyle Busch. And with his twelfth-place finish, Austin Dillion (No. 3 Richard Childress Racing AdvoCare Chevrolet Camaro) won the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship. Editor-in-Chief's Note: But Dillon's title didn't come without major controversy. A botched 12-lap caution period toward the end of the race was a complete fiasco that left competitors bewildered and a certain manufacturer's executive team furious. It was obvious to everyone - excluding the NASCAR officials, unfortunately - that a red flag should have been thrown in order that the track could be cleaned up properly so it wouldn't affect the outcome of the race. That didn't happen, which effectively eliminated Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 12 Penske Racing Alliance Parts Ford Mustang) from a shot at the championship. This was Bush League Bullshit of the highest order, folks. And a blatant move by NASCAR officials to manipulate the outcome of the championship. Not Good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was simply inexcusable and unforgivable. - PMD Watch the video here.

Kyle Busch (No. 51 Kyle Busch Racing Toyota Care Toyota) won the Ford EcoBoost 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway Friday night. Matt Crafton (No. 88 ThorSport Racing Ideal Door-Menards Toyota) won the series championship."It’s an honor," an emotional Crafton said after the race. "To be able to do it for (team owners) Duke and Rhonda Thorson that have been doing this for 18 years and give them their first championship … and me driving for them for 13 years full time … for (sponsor) Menards and all the people that have been behind me, and every one of these guys that work on this truck, it’s an honor to be able to give them this championship. These guys are the ones that work so hard. I’m just the one who gets to celebrate and look like a hero, because I get to drive a great truck all year."
