SPECIAL EDITOR'S NOTE: We'd like to remind you that Peter's first work of fiction, "St. Michael of Birmingham" is out now. Make no mistake, it doesn't resemble anything you've read from him before. In fact, it is quite a dramatic departure. It is mystical. It is sexy. It is funny. It's moving. And it is a flat-out wild ride unlike anything you've experienced. Having said that, it is definitely not for everyone, but then, it is from PMD, so that probably shouldn't come as a surprise! Check it out on Amazon Kindle here. -WG

Automobili Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group presented the worldwide premiere of the new Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT at the Monaco Yacht Show. The collaboration between the two companies began in 2020 with the launch of the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, which paid tribute to the year the House of Sant’Agata was founded and was a huge success among enthusiasts. The new 101FT, named for its length of about 30 meters, "embodies the synthesis between two companies that are worthy of representing Made in Italy excellence on the global level," according to Lamborghini PR minions. The project was conceived with the aim of creating an unrepeatable experience for those who drive the motoryacht, just as it is for Lamborghini customers. The model stems from the synergy between the two brands, combining the technical and engineering excellence of The Italian Sea Group with the distinctive aesthetics and innovation typical of Lamborghini’s super sports cars. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, comments: “With the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT, we are taking Lamborghini’s DNA to sea: performance, design, and innovation come together in a motoryacht that redefines the concept of nautical luxury. It is not only a yacht, but an affirmation of Italian excellence. The Italian Sea Group and Automobili Lamborghini share an exclusive clientele, who are passionate about beauty, technology, and extreme performance. It is exactly this shared vision that makes our collaboration so natural and so significant.” From the technical perspective, the 101FT is equipped with three powerful MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, combined with three surface propellers, which make it possible to reach a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. These performance figures are supported by a total output of 7.600HP and two 35 kW generators, ensuring efficiency and reliability in every condition. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT was presented in a scale version in an exclusive premiere during the press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show, the most prestigious showcase of the international nautical panorama. The definitive model will set sail at the end of the 2027.

The AE Song of the Week:

Three, four

Well, everybody's talking and no one says a word
Everybody's making love and no one really cares
There's matches in the bathroom just below the stairs
Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot
They're starving back in China so finish what you got

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed
Strange days indeed

Everybody's runnin' and no one makes a move
Well, everyone's a winner
And nothing left to lose
There's a little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu
Everybody's flying and no one leaves the ground
Well, everybody's crying and no one makes a sound
There's a place for us in movies
You just gotta lay around

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed
Most peculiar, mama

Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high
Everybody's flying and never touch the sky
There's UFO's over New York and I ain't too surprised

Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed
Most peculiar, Mama, roll

"Nobody Told Me" by John Lennon from the album "Milk And Honey" (1984).* Written by John Winston Lennon. Publisher: Downtown Music Publishing Lyrics licensed and provided by LyricFind. Watch the Official Music Video here.

*John Lennon wrote this song in 1976 with the working title "Everybody's Talkin', Nobody's Talkin'." He recorded the song at the sessions for his 1980 album Double Fantasy, but decided not to include it on the set, giving it to his Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr instead. Ringo was going to record the song for his 1981 album Stop And Smell The Roses, but when Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980, he didn't feel comfortable recording it.

Lennon's recording finally surfaced in 1984 when it was released as a single and included on Milk And Honey, an album comprised of songs recorded during the Double Fantasy sessions that didn't make the cut. It was a big posthumous hit, reaching the Top 10 in both the US and UK.

Yoko Ono called this "kind of a fun song." She told Uncut in 1998: "I think that especially around that time he felt that again, the world had lost its course, its direction. I really think that it's to do with, not confusion but starting to learn that life is always gonna be a mystery."

The mention of the "Little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu" comes from the poem The Green Eye of the Yellow God by J. Milton Hayes. The first stanza runs:

There's a one-eyed yellow idol to the north of Kathmandu
There's a little marble cross below the town
There's a broken-hearted woman tends the grave of Mad Carew
And the Yellow God forever gazes down

The line, "There's a UFO over New York and I ain't too surprised" was taken from an actual incident. In 1974, John and his lover May Pang (during his separation from Yoko) were living in an apartment overlooking New York's East River, when John saw what he thought was a UFO. According to Pang, John yelled out the window "come back - take me!" (Thanks Ken, Louisville, KY)

The video for the song was pieced together from home movies of John, Yoko, and baby Sean. (Knowledge courtesy of Songfacts.com)
