Valtteri Bottas (No. 77 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport) won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton (No. 44 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport). It was the fourth 1-2 finish for Mercedes-Benz this season. The Finn started from the pole position and delivered a flawless performance on Sunday to capture his second victory of the season, and move back to the top of the title standings ahead of Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel (No. 5 Scuderia Ferrari) finished third ahead of Max Verstappen (No. 33 Aston Martin Red Bull Racing), while Charles Leclerc (No. 16 Scuderia Ferrari) came home fifth.(Sean Gardner/Getty Images)
Chase Elliott (No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports MOUNTAIN DEW/LITTLE CAESAR'S Chevrolet Camaro) seized the lead in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway during a four-lap shootout to the finish and took the checkered flag under caution after Kyle Larson (No. 42 Ganassi Racing CLOVER Chevrolet Camaro) barrel-rolled behind him. Elliott’s victory was Chevrolet's first win in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series since last October at Kansas Speedway and the first win for a team other than Team Penske or Joe Gibbs Racing this season. Elliott finished ahead of teammate Alex Bowman (No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports NATIONWIDE Chevrolet Camaro), who scored his career-best finish. Rookies Ryan Peece (No. 47 KROGER Chevrolet Camaro) and Daniel Hemric (No. 8 CATERPILLAR Chevrolet Camaro) finished third and fourth. This was Elliott's first win at Talladega and the fourth of his career.
