Marc Marquez (No. 93 Repsol Honda Team) won the Red Bull MotoGP of the Americas at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, on Sunday afternoon. The eight-time World Champion earned a seventh win in Austin as Fabio Quartararo (No. 20 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) finished second, extending his Championship lead over third-place finisher Francesco Bagnaia (No. 63 Ducati Lenovo Team) to 52 points. Marquez delivered a flawless performance, giving the Repsol Honda Team their 450th premier class podium. Quartararo can clinch the chmpionship next time out at Misano. By winning the rain-delayed - and rain-shortened - YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Monday, Bubba Wallace (No. 23XI Racing No. 23 Toyota) not only captured his first NASCAR Cup Series victory, he becomes the first Black driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race since NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Wendell Scott's lone victory on Dec. 1, 1963, in Jacksonville, Fla. Wallace led five of the 117 laps in the race, which was stopped 71 laps shy of the full distance by the second rain shower of the day. He drove to a home-state victory at the 2.66-mile Alabama track, producing the first win for the Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin-owned organization in its first season. Wallaxe'sTalladega victory denied the playoff-eligible contenders from securing an automatic berth in the Round of 8, the postseason’s next phase. Hamlin (No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota) had advanced with a Las Vegas Motor Speedway victory the previous weekend.
