McLaren has revealed a one-off livery design for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, where the team will celebrate its 1000th F1 race. McLaren made its F1 debut on the streets of Monte Carlo back in 1966, with founder Bruce McLaren at the wheel. The team’s milestone moment comes exactly 60 years on. In order to mark the occasion, current drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will compete in a special orange-and-black scheme, featuring a large ‘1000’ on the sidepods.

In addition, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) celebrates the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team’s 1,000th Grand Prix start at the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix with the New McLaren Artura 1000GP. Strictly limited to 10 client cars only, the unique livery marks a key moment in McLaren Racing’s illustrious history, with bespoke pinstripe detailing and an anodized metallic papaya plaque completing the package.

Genesis Magma Racing has revealed the livery that will be carried by the pair of GMR-001 Hypercars for the team’s debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The design features a gradient that transitions from deep red to vibrant Magma Orange, "reflecting the energy and culture of Genesis’ Korean roots," according to Genesis PR minions. The two cars will be differentiated by the additional white logos and highlights carried on the No. 19 machine, compared to the orange and black of the No. 17 entry.

Four-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou prevailed in a full-contact race filled with various tire strategies, winning the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on Sunday for his fourth victory in eight races this season. Pole sitter Palou drove his No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing HRC Honda to a 3.0584-second victory over the No. 27 Andretti Global Sam's Club Honda of Kyle Kirkwood. It was the 23rd victory of Palou’s career in 106 starts, a remarkable strike rate of 21.7 percent, and he has won 12 of the last 25 races (48 percent win rate) dating to the start of the 2025 season. “It feels like the first time, honestly” Palou said. “It was a tough one, a very tough one. But the team did an incredible job once again with the strategy. The pit stops were incredible. Incredible run, incredible start of the year, but it was tough.” The victory extended Palou’s championship lead to 62 points over Kirkwood, more than a race’s worth of margin. The Spaniard is aiming for an INDYCAR SERIES record-tying fourth straight title. Graham Rahal finished third in the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Fifth Third Bank Honda, his third podium finish of the season. Watch the Race highlights here. (Thank you to INDYCAR Media)

Editor-in-Chief's Note: From the sublime to the ridiculous. The juxtaposition between Detroit and the Indianapolis 500 the week before cannot be swept under the rug. Indy was spectacular; Detroit was a spectacular fail, yet again. The so-called 1.6-mile "track" for the Detroit Grand Prix is a Bush League Bullshit layout that has no business hosting an INDYCAR race. But alas, it's all about the money, so it will continue. And it's truly pathetic. -PMD

Enzo Fittipaldi returned his famous last name to Victory Lane in Detroit for the first time in 35 years, winning the INDY NXT by Firestone Detroit Grand Prix despite driving nearly the entire distance with a damaged front wing and nose cone. Series rookie Fittipaldi won the race, originally scheduled for 45 laps but switched to a timed event, under caution in the No. 67 HMD Motorsports car after starting seventh. It was his second victory of the season and vaulted him to the championship lead in the INDYCAR development series, seven points ahead of Nikita Johnson of Cape Motorsports Powered by ECR and eight ahead of HMD teammate Tymek Kucharczyk. The victory also was the first by the legendary Fittipaldi name in Detroit since his grandfather and two-time Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi won INDYCAR SERIES races on a different downtown street circuit in the Motor City in 1989 and 1991. “I just pushed as hard as I could,” Enzo Fittipaldi said. “I found pace. I was really, really fast. Just so happy to get the win. I love to race; I’m a racer.” Series veteran Myles Rowe finished a season-best second in the No. 99 Abel Motorsports with Force Indy machine, with rookie Kucharczyk rounding out the podium finishers in the No. 71 HMD Motorsports entry.

An Italian, in Italy, on Italian machinery, winning at Mugello. The best day of Marco Bezzecchi’s MotoGP career so far? Hell, yeah. That’s what dreams are made of for the World Championship leader as the Marco (No. 72 Aprilia Racing) delivered a faultless performance to send the record-breaking crowd into overdrive. And the day got better for Aprilia Racing as Jorge Martin (No. 89 Aprilia Racing) earned the Italian marque a 1-2, while Francesco Bagnaia (No. 63 Ducati Lenovo Team) held off a late Ai Ogura (No. 79 Trackhouse MotoGP Team) attack to return to the Italian GP podium to serve up some more delight for the famous Italian faithful. General Motors brands delivered a key double victory in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic. The No. 31 Cadillac Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R of Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber controlled the 100-minute race in Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) and overall, with the Renaissance Center in the backdrop of the 1.645-mile Detroit Street Circuit that runs along the Detroit Riverwalk. Meanwhile, the Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) saw Chevrolet join Cadillac atop the Detroit podium. Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims brought it home in the No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette Z06 GT3.R, while the rest of the GTD PRO field had a chaotic finish behind it. Editor's Note: This is our dearly departed billboard, which we had at Road America for several years. Peter gifted the phrase "America's National Park of Speed" to the track, which now uses it proudly in all of its communications. -WG
