Mazda Team Joest has announced its driver pairings for its Mazda RT24-Ps in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Jonathan Bomarito will partner with Harry Tincknell in the No. 55 Castrol Mazda RT24-P. Olivier Pla will join them for the Michelin Endurance Cup races. Tristan Nunez and Oliver Jarvis will return as the primary drivers in the No. 77 Mazda RT24-P. The two will be joined for the Michelin Endurance Cup events by Timo Bernhard. Rene Rast will also join the No. 77 Mazda RT24-P driver lineup at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. In other team news, longtime Joest Racing team engineer, Jan Lange, has been promoted to CEO of Mazda Team Joest and assumes leadership of the day-to-day operation of the team. Motorsports veteran Chris Mower has also joined Mazda Team Joest as Team Coordinator, operating the team’s base in Atlanta, Georgia.

António Félix da Costa (No. 28 BMW i Andretti Motorsport BMW iFE.18) won the ABB FIA Formula E season opener at Ad Diriyah.  It was Félix da Costa’s second win in his Formula E career. Next up for Formula E is Marrakech on January 12, 2019.
