Lewis Hamilton (No. 44 AMG Petronas F1 Team) had a lousy Mexican Grand Prix, bouncing off Sebastian Vettel (No. 5 Scuderia Ferrari) in Turn 3 on the first lap, dropping to dead last at one point and then pounding around to finish ninth (his worst finish in four years). But it was enough to clinch his fourth World Driving Championship, becoming the most successful British driver in Formula 1 history. Max Verstappen (No. 33 Red Bull Racing) dominated the race itself, with Valtteri Bottas (No. 77 AMG Petronas F1 Team) finishing second and Vettel’s teammate Kimi Raikkonen (No. 7 Scuderia Ferrari) coming home third. Vettel, who fell back to eighteenth at one point after his incident with Hamilton, came back to finish fourth. "I remember growing up in Stevenage and one day dreaming of being in Formula One," Hamilton reflected after the race. "Here we are 25 years later, a four-time world champion. Keep pushing, whatever you are going through in your life. Don't ever give up." He added, "There were a couple of teachers who said that I would never amount to anything. Andrea Dovizioso (No. 4 Ducati Team) was in a must-win situation heading into the Malaysian MotoGP at the Sepang International Circuit, and he delivered. The Italian kept calm under intense pressure to secure his sixth win of the season – and take the Championship fight down to the wire. Jorge Lorenzo (No. 99 Ducati Team) finished second for a Ducati 1-2, with Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) finishing third. Dovizioso now trails Marc Marquez (No. 93 Repsol Honda Team) by 21 points heading to the season finale at Valencia, Spain.

In a wild overtime finish that took Sunday’s First Data 500 to 505 laps at the .526-mile Martinsville Speedway short track, Kyle Busch (No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing M&Ms HalloweenToyota) beat Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series leader Martin Truex Jr. (No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Toyota) to the stripe by .141 seconds to take the checkered flag and earn a spot in the Nov. 19 Championship 4 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was Busch's fifth win of the season. As Busch crossed the finish line, a multi-car wreck behind him scrambled the running order and left a parking lot of wrecked cars on the front stretch. Clint Boyer (No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Haas Automation Ford) finished third. “We weren’t the best all day, but we put ourselves in the right spots there at the end,” said Busch. “There was kind of chaos ensuing and none of it was our fault, we just came out on the right end of the stick.” Next up is the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, November 5, with only three races remaining this season.

Audi is unveiling its TT clubsport turbo concept at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this week. Audi says that the TT clubsport is "inspired by the legendary Audi 90 IMSA GTO race car of the late 1980s in both appearance and performance." The Audi TT clubsport turbo concept is powered by a 600HP five-cylinder 2.5 TFSI engine with an electronically assisted turbocharger; it sprints from 0–62.1 mph in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 192.6 mph. The Audi TT clubsport turbo concept's angular fenders are 5.5 in. wider than the production version, and it utilizes a manually-adjustable rear wing made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer.
