Lawrence Loshak (No. 3
Burtin Racing Pennzoil/GoShare Chevrolet Camaro) drove to a flag-to-flag victory in the opening TA class race of the 2019 Trans Am presented by Pirelli championship at Sebring International Raceway on Sunday. Loshak finished 3.047 seconds of Chris Dyson (No. 20 Plaid Ford Mustang) to win his third career TA class race. R.J. Lopez (No. 06 TinaBazucaCraftAle Corvette) finished third. “Finally, I won at Sebring – this place has always been bad luck for me. We’ve been fast all weekend, but we’ve been fast here before, only to have some gremlins take us out. To start the season with a win is what the team deserves.”

Rafa Matos (
No. 88 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet Camaro) led flag to flag to win the 25-lap season-opening Trans Am presented by Pirelli race at Sebring International Raceway on Sunday in the TA2 powered by AEM class. Marc Miller (No. 40 Prefix/Stevens-Miller Racing Dodge Challenger) finished second, with Scott Lagasse (No. 92 SLR/Fields Tacing/M1 Racecars Camaro) coming home in third. “Today was a redemption race, definitely,” said Matos, the defending TA2 champion. “I was determined I was not going to lose the race this year. I knew that Marc (Miller) was saving his tires, he was being smart like he did last year. I did everything I could did in the middle of the race to save my car in case I needed it at the end. And when I needed to push the 3Dimensional car, it responded perfectly. It was a great day for everyone on our team. It’s been an amazing time.”

The race came down to a battle between teammates, but Joey Logano (No. 22 Team Penske Pennzoil Ford Mustang) held off a charging Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Team Penske DIscount Tire Ford Mustang) on the final lap of the
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 to score the second straight victory for Team Penske this year. “I said we’re going to do donuts on that giant infield logo after the race, and we were able to do it,” said Logano, who won for the first time this season, the first time at Las Vegas and the 22nd time in his career. “What a great race. Brad and I were so evenly matched, and you just can’t drive away (with the lead). In the last five or six laps, Brad was catching me so quick, and I got stuck behind a lapped car. Man, it was so close. Lots of fun – my heart’s still running hard.” Kyle Busch (No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing M&Ms Chocolate Bar Toyota Camry) recovered from a pit road speeding penalty to finish third.
